Can I buy the game second hand?

No, you cannot buy the game second hand. The game will be registered to the person's Steam account who first bought the product and cannot be registered to a new Steam account. This means that if you buy the game second hand you will not be able to play the game. Please do not buy the game second hand as we cannot assist you with this problem and we cannot give you a new CD key. Valve will also not offer you a new CD key. Our best advice if you have already purchased the game is to return it to the shop where you bought the game and ask for your money back, explaining that the game is unplayable as a second hand product.

Is 'The Ship' a multiplayer game only?

No, you will also be able to play the game offline in an arcade mode which mimics online play. There is also a single player story mode and a tutorial. The mission based story mode is where players can discover the background to 'The Hunt' and see Mr X for the first time! The Tutorial comes as standard with any purchase option. The Single player story mode is bundled with the multiplayer in the boxed retail version, and can be purchased on Steam as a separate, stand alone product or as part of a bundle with the multiplayer mode.

What happened to the Half Life 1 mod?

The Half Life 1 Mod is still available however as the team are now working on the sequel to ‘The Ship’ there will be no further work done to improve the mod beyond its current status.

Why do I have to pay for the new version of 'The Ship' when the original mod was free?

Because the full version of 'The Ship' is not a mod. The game is a stand alone product and you do not have to own a copy of Half Life 2 in order to play. The game is based on the Source engine but the development team have licensed the technology for 'The Ship'. ‘The Ship’ is also a product with a depth of gameplay which far surpasses the original mod version and graphically, it’s beautiful. We believe it is excellent value for money.

Do I need an Internet Connection to play 'The Ship'?

You will need a broad band connection to play a multiplayer game of 'The Ship' however you can play the single player mode or and the arcade mode offline with no Internet Connection.
